A hotel that looks close to the arena on a map may still be inconvenient afterwards. Start with the descent from Montjuïc, check night transport, then choose where to stay.

Quick answer: choose around the return journey
For less onward travel after descending, start by comparing hotels around Plaça Espanya. If Sants suits your rail journey better, arrange the connection from Espanya too. A central stay may suit a longer city break, but needs a checked late-night route. No one hotel choice is best for every concert and party.
After the show: off the hill, then to your hotel
The venue describes downhill-only traffic after events, preventing taxis and private transfers from coming uphill for a pickup at the exit. A taxi there and a pickup at the door afterwards are different arrangements. Official arrival and exit information ↗

Reach Plaça Espanya
Use a confirmed event shuttle or a walking route that suits you. A nearby hotel does not remove the hill.
The final leg
Continue to your hotel, planned stop or pickup point. Check connections and the hotel entrance too.
2 · You are relying on walking
Check the descending route and your own walking needs beforehand. The venue mentions escalators on the connection to Espanya, but that does not make the whole journey step-free. Darkness, crowds and tiredness may affect your choice.
3 · The metro closes before you can connect
Plan a suitable NitBus route with AMB, or agree on a permitted pickup point outside the restricted event area with your transport provider. Save a fallback. Do not treat a queue-free, door-to-door ride or fixed taxi fare as certain.
Which night is your concert?
Use the normal metro schedule as an initial check. Allow for leaving the arena and reaching your platform. The finish time below refers to departures from line termini, not a guaranteed departure at Espanya.

The funicular is not a late-night fallback. For 26 October 2026–28 March 2027, TMB lists an 8 pm finish. The funicular and cable car are different services. A workable outward journey does not establish that the same route operates after your concert.

The hotel is above Barcelona Sants. It is an alternative when your train journey before or after the concert matters.
Trade-off: Sants is not Plaça Espanya. Arrange the onward leg after descending; do not assume a metro connection outside operating hours.

Check the venue and plan your outward trip separately
Palau Sant Jordi and Sant Jordi Club are on Montjuïc. Palau de la Música Catalana is in the old town: it is a different destination. Use the venue, entrance and ticket details in your concert confirmation.
From Plaça Espanya, the venue lists bus 150 among the options. Check your departure, service status and any event service. Leave room for queues and admission checks. Do not plan solely around the running time reported for a previous show.

- Your show: correct venue, entrance, start and any bag rules. Check the organiser for changes.
- Your return: confirmed event service or a workable alternative. Save the address and a map offline.
- Your hotel: correct nights, occupancy, late return and building access.

Questions about your concert trip
Can a taxi pick me up at the concert exit?
Do not assume so. The venue describes post-event traffic restrictions for taxis and private transport. Agree only on a reachable pickup point permitted that evening. Check the venue and organiser’s instructions.
Does a shuttle run after every concert?
The venue says most events have a shuttle to Plaça Espanya. That does not confirm service for your concert. Check the TMB notice during event week, including stop, direction and valid ticket.
Is a hotel by Plaça Espanya beside Palau Sant Jordi?
No. The square is below the hill; the venue is on Montjuïc. Even with a hotel around Espanya, you still need to arrange the uphill journey and the descent.
Does the metro run all night on Sunday evening?
Not normally. Saturday night into Sunday has continuous service; normal Sunday-evening service ends at midnight. Special dates can differ. The official end time refers to departures from line termini, not your connection.
Can I use the funicular after a late concert?
Do not rely on the funicular without checking it. From 26 October 2026 through 28 March 2027, TMB lists an 8 pm finish. It is also separate from the cable car. Check your date on the official hours page.
