Our short answer: choose the experience you want
Choose Casa Batlló if colour, organic interior details and audiovisual presentation appeal to you. Choose Casa Milà if you want to understand a Gaudí residential building, with its apartment, attic and rooftop as key stops. With limited time or budget, choose one interior.
This is our editorial recommendation based on the described visits. Both can be worthwhile; the right choice depends on the traveller.

Casa Batlló versus Casa Milà: what does your ticket include?
This table compares official regular visits. For a rooftop comparison, Casa Batlló therefore requires a different tier from Blue. Partner products may have their own options and conditions.

|---|---|---|
| Main focus | Colour, interior details and audiovisual presentation. | Courtyards, a period apartment, the Gaudí attic and rooftop architecture. |
| Standard admission | General Visit · Blue | La Pedrera Essential |
| Rooftop | General Visit includes it from Silver upwards; not with Blue. | Included with Essential. |

Which offers better value for your party?
Compare the total for the same date, every traveller and the spaces you actually want. A low entry price is less useful if you then need another option. For two adults without specific extras, the calendar price may decide; families should check age categories first.
Pay particular attention with a 12-year-old
For the reviewed official visits, age 12 is still within Casa Batlló’s free category, while La Pedrera Essential charges the junior rate. Enter actual ages, then compare the complete price; a booking partner may use different categories or conditions.
Compare daytime and evening visits separately
An evening ticket can have a different programme and accessible spaces. Casa Batlló distinguishes Night Visit from Magical Nights with a concert; La Pedrera sells a separate Night Experience. Check the offer for your travel date before planning an evening around a particular programme.
If the rooftop is your main reason for visiting, or stairs are difficult, check current access and any restrictions directly with the venue before booking. La Pedrera accessibility ↗ · Casa Batlló practical information ↗
A relaxed afternoon: one interior, both façades
This is our suggested itinerary rather than an attraction schedule. Adapt the order to your confirmed time slot and leave a buffer before another reservation.
Start with the house you want to enter
As a planning block, allow around two hours for the visit, arrival and a look at the façade. Official visit durations appear above; your pace and extras determine the actual time.
Walk along Passeig de Gràcia to the other house
Look at the façades along the way and take a break. With no second interior booking, there is no additional entry time to meet. Keep pavements and entrances clear when taking photographs.
Then choose your next neighbourhood
Continue through Eixample or towards Gràcia if you have energy left. If you visited the Sagrada Família that morning, keep the evening flexible rather than adding another major reservation.

Questions about choosing Casa Batlló or Casa Milà
Which is better: Casa Batlló or Casa Milà?
It depends on your interests. Our advice: Batlló for colour and immersive presentation; Milà for building design, the apartment and rooftop. Choose by your interests and ticket inclusions.
Is Casa Milà the same as La Pedrera?
Yes. Both names refer to the same building and visit here. Avoid accidentally booking them as two different attractions.
Which costs less for a family?
Compare all ages and the same extras in the calendar. A 12-year-old is still in the free category at Casa Batlló but in the junior category for Essential. Check your chosen provider too.
Can you visit both in one day?
Yes, with suitable time slots and room for arrival and breaks. For a first city break, we suggest one interior and the other façade. Architecture enthusiasts can plan two separate visit blocks.
Do both tickets include the rooftop?
Essential lists rooftop access. For Casa Batlló’s official General Visit, it starts with Silver. Read the selected partner option; the lowest price does not establish identical inclusions.
Can you see the buildings from outside for free?
The façades are visible from Passeig de Gràcia. Visitor interiors and rooftops require appropriate admission. On a small budget, include both façades in a walk.
